    Hi Guys,

just got a offer job where I'm on 25k a year.

I was wondering where is the best and most reliable place to calculate how much tax I will be paying per month should I take the job?

    Is the Deloitte calculator accurate?

    Thanks in advance!!

Another calculator (an Excel spreadsheet which I created)- see the link in my signature to download.

The forum moderator doesn't like links to tax calculators (he doesn't trust them or test them) to be included in a post.

    About 60 euro a week.

Take home about 420 a week

Was on that salary for the last few years myself, until got a bump up to 32k in Febuary.

Paying 110 a week in tax now, take home around 500.

We can't complain too much about tax, few of the senior guys working with me in stressful jobs on around 42-45k

Barely make 600 take home pay.

You could try working it out for yourself as its pretty straightforward once you give it a few minutes, as its only basic maths.

The link below explains how the PAYE system works. You basically start with rate band which allows you to earn up to a certain amount each month at the 20% band. Anything over that is taxed at the higher rate 41%. You then deduct your tax credits from the tax you are due to pay to give you the tax you actually pay. For a single person the yearly standard rate band is 32800 and the standard tax credits add up to 3300. Divide by 12 to get your monthly figures.
