    Hi,
can runners go into the washing machine (after mountain run) or would that damage them?

Found a shower works best for me, used to get dizzy spells after the washing machine.

I sometimes put my runners into a plain WHITE pillow case, knot it and trow them in to the washing mechine. Id only put it on for a short wash e.g. 30*c. Also take out the lasers.

But when ever I done it, it seemed to work well.

Seriously, even at low temperatures you're breaking down the mid sole properties. Fine if they've been retired for gardening, not so good for running.

+1 on this. Take out the in sole and stuff em with newspaper for a day or two then brush off the dirt. You won't get away with them at mass probably but they'll be grand for the next mountain.

Why would runners need clean running shoes?

I've always read to keep your shoes as dry as possible, put newspapers in etc after getting wet so why would today's running shoes with modern fabrics and technology be put in a washing machine?

After the IMRA races I just throw them in the bath and rinse them off with the shower head. I wouldn't put them in a washing machine anyway.

As regards drying them DO NOT dry them on a radiator it warps the rubber
