Any ideas for someplace to go, June seems like bad weather in a lot of tropical places, would like sun, nice beaches, warm water, plenty of sea like for snorkeling or driving and things to do by night, shops, activites etc. Also want to be pampered a little, has to be a stress free holiday. No internet or phone access required.

Would like to go to the Maldives or Caribbean but the weather is a bit un predictable this time of year.

    All ideas welcome, tks DM

    Barbados.

We've been twice in August - supposed to be worst time to go to the Caribbean. We were advised by a friend who is from there that weather wise it'd be fine because it's too far south to be affected by the hurricane belt. Worst you get is a bit of a stronger breeze and occasionally the sea can be a bit choppy for a few days which limits the water sports just cos the resorts/businesses won't take risks letting you take catamarans etc out too far. Doesn't really affect snorkelling. And both times we were there while hurricanes were wreaking havoc further up.

Oh it did rain 1 day! Both times we were there. The first time there was a light shower for about 10 minutes during which most people just got in the pool and chatted til it was over and the second time it rained for about 30 hours and the pools almost overflowed. I spent that day sitting on the (covered) patio in my bikini reading, optimistically expecting it to end. (Mad (very) white optimistic Irish woman!)
