how much should i expect to pay for laptop repair

    i have a sumsung laptop,the dc connection is faulty,i was quoted 90 euro for repair, plus an xtra 35 if it needs a new jack,is this what ishud expect to pay,thanks every1 for lookin,grateful for any advice

    Sounds a bit excessive to me. If you're in Dublin try Beyond 2000 on Chatham Row off Grafton Street. There's a computer repair shop based there run by a decent lad who'll look after you. Alternatively try Computer City on 01-2820458, they're in Ballybrack.

    If it's the part on the laptop, it could be cheap, as most laptops have the power bit soldered to the motherboard, so a new motherboard is needed most of the time.

    €90 is reasonable. We charge €99 (€94 if you like the Facebook page) but we don't charge extra for any parts, its all included. Just so you know that €35 they are charging is for if they have to use a new part that can easily be gotten for under €10 sometimes under €5 rather than re using the old one.
