M-box driver for PT8

    Hi, in a bit of a bind. I need to reinstall mbox drivers (I think, mac has stopped recognizing mbox 2, lights only working dimly with no green light on USB status led) for PT8 on a mac, can't find any on Avid site, only for PT9. Is there issue in installing these instead?

    Or could it be something else?

    you generally just install protools to install the drivers.

    but you can get the standalone drivers, they're just a PITA to find. they're buried deep somewhere within the old digi site

    Yeah its a funny one, PT is working fine with a 003... no dice with the Mbox2 tho.

    since you're using pt9 why not use the asio4all driver? its a lot more stable than the digi asio anyway.

    I take it you are Windows based then if Asio4All is being mentioned?

    My Mbox 2 Mini is crapping out. Has to be one of the worst things I have bought. It did work with Asio4All but Cubase/Asio4All/Mbox would give me jip from time to time.
    Replaced the Mbox only this week with a Focurite Scarlett 2i2 after more trouble.
