So, not 180. 180, plus a loom at approx 40 euro Halfords prices, plus installation depending on the complexity of your existing cars wiring at anything from 50-100 (Some cars are a pain to install the 9200 into).

    In my case, it'll be:
    €180 MKi9200
    + €15 loom adaptor
    + €80 installation

+ memory cards, USB stick, mobile phone, credit for phone, car, road tax, insurance, petrol, petrol, petrol, petrol, ... etc LOL :D

I noticed this offer also. I rang halford who told me that the offer on the internet was only a special offer for the internet? and then I would need to get an adapter cable. I would then need to actually call to the store to order the cable. - I offered to pay for the cable over the phone and give him my visa or laser card , but he said I would actually have to call into the shop to pay for the cable, meaning two trips to the halfords - one to get the cable and then one to get the actual device fitted. -

The cable cost 30e and I was quoted for 50e for the installation and the actual car kit was 200e in the shop - so 280 instead of 230?? for fitting and all.

Felt like at the end of call that it was too much hassle for halfords to consider fitting the carkit..

We have one and it periodically breaks with the iphone 4s (screen is black and device frozen), I have updated the firmware a few times in the last couple of months, and the problem persists. Each time the kit seems to work for a little while, then stops working frequently. Will try and update firmware again soon, maybe they've fixed it. Expert want to charge €30 to "fix" it, whatever that might entail

Halfords have these reduced a bit, down €25 to €179.99.
    see: http://www.halfords.ie/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/product_storeId_11101_catalogId_15551_productId_569633_langId_-1_categoryId_212409

NB// these will usually need an adaptor lead particular to your car, plus specialist fitting unless confident with major dash surgery.

Also, Halfords being Halfords, avoiding their installation team might be worth it - independent fitters are usually reasonable anyway.
    .

If I click on the link it gives me the option of store fitting for €29.99, seems a fair price...
Fitting is quite easy and most cars will not need the additional lead, ISO connectors have been the standard for a while except for the more expensive audio systems. You can check if you need a cable for your car make/model here: http://www.parrot.com/uk/support/installationdiagrams
You could also go for the Mki9100 http://www.halfords.ie/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/product_storeId_11101_catalogId_15551_productId_725369_langId_-1_categoryId_212409
It does pretty much the same thing, just has a smaller display and hence costs less...

wow, thats a crazy price right there.
however I got this recently on a deals page (forget which one) for only €25.
It fits on the visor sturdy magnets and a very strong clip, charges from the sunlight we get here, and does all your streaming needs.
Obviously it is not a parrot product and I dont mean to spoil the thread but thats a bit expensive and from the sounds of it messy.

Not trying to spoil the thread either but for a great visor alternative I'd highly recommend the Supertooth Buddy. Unbelievable battery life, very neat, easy to use, and voice clarity is fantastic on it.

Halfords have them for €60 but I picked one up new from eBay for under €40.

have one as well , great kit for ipod and usb and also a good car kit!

The visor alternatives are fine (used one for a while), and definitely much lighter on the wallet.

However, I wanted to have the caller ID unit in a good visible position, and still have the controls easy at hand (eg steering wheel).
Crucially, I wanted a good sized music collection on tap (SD card or usb drive somewhere tidy) and not flatten any batteries(phone, transmitter, etc) on a cork-dublin drive, say.
Also, I can't abide the FM transmitter types -- I'd prefer one answer button to play the call, whether the car radio is one or off; not to mention the interference varying from place to place.

Ideally I might like a replacement for the built-in headunit but with bluetooth, solid state memory, a good menu display and steering controls but that would empty my wallet badly!! I've seen Mazda-compatible dvd-gps-mp3-coffeemaker units from China but the Parrot is prob a software masterclass by comparison :)

Anyway, this is more like info for a car forum or the samaritans, sorry :D

You can get this carkit and many others on this website: www.phonesonline.ie , the kit itself is priced at €179.00, they also sell the loom cables for €14.00 -€20.00, you can pay anything €50.00 - €90.00 for fitting. It's a good site..

Yes, and their postage is very reasonable, they were the [ie] price I linked to originally.
However, postage for returns etc is a possibility for this... costly and time consuming.

If an online price is significantly better tho, can't argue wih that.

I got this installed with Halfords and had nothing but trouble. Had to make numerous trips up.

    - Said he would remove old USB (Not working) that was present in the car before i bought it and didnt
    - Placed mic on far side of mirror when made 100% more sense to put it on the near side.
    - left the wiring hanging out on the underside of the interior near the passengers feet (No idea why - i was able to get it routed to glove box myself)

As quoted above, mine periodically shuts iself down and has to restart itself. I have the latest update for definite as i had to update it to be compatible with my htc one x so definitely latest version.

Just be aware of halfords installation even with this price. I thought they were crap. Admittedly a great kit though.

Also Includes a "free car check"

It is basic enough and involves a check of the coolant, oil, wipers, lights, screen wash and battery.

Here is the link to the voucher you must print off and bring into Halfords with you

    Hi there,

Well, I saw this report today, and yes it is true, there is currently a sale on most of the Parrot MKi range, and is at a ridiculous cheap price for the MKi range, and take it from someone who fits them on a daily basis and with over several years of experience.

Listen, work away buying them, tho I would strongly warn away from getting them to fit them, and at €29.99 fitting I know it's tempting, but most are teenagers in their late teens, who have to look on the Halfords help support pages looking at pictures to take apart interiors of most cars. I've worked on lots of the new cars as well as many of the old, and know the complexity in most of them, where as some in the stores might have never seen them before, so my opinion if you want to get them to install, ask questions of their experience, it is after all your car, and deserve too know the experience they have before taking apart, just like a mechanic. Or check out your local certified installer at, http://www.parrotpartners.com/geolocator/V4/index.php

I am a certified parrot installer and agent who travels over the south east and we don't aim to rip off anybody, we merely cover our own costs, whether it's the diesel in our vans, the insurance to do what we do, and the time it takes to get to and from jobs and our experience in the field. We also offer work place or home installations for the convenience of the customer, where as in some cases you might have to wait up to an hour to over 2hours in the different stores.

These kits are trade price, so yes, they are a great deal, and yes with AXA, some stores, only some now will give you a further 15% off this Parrot range as I researched today to find out, but some will not give double discount, so be aware.

Hope this helps, and for more information on the parrot range to see which one might best suit you check these links out and have a read,

I've had one of these since Christmas, and I've found it excellent. I've not had any of the issues mentioned above - though I believe it's important to make sure the firmware is up-to-date, as earlier versions were known for being buggy.

I did need an extra lead as I've an amp in the boot, otherwise I don't think there were any extra parts needed.

Some halford stores may be dodgy but I must say i have nothing but positive things to say about them. They fitted my car kit for 29.99 when everyone else was asking for Atleast 100euro. Never had any problems with it. Fantastic piece of kit.
