Im hoping someone can help me out. Im thinking of doing this level 6 FETAC course but iv my worries about it

    Interactive media

Im just unsure about the course in that will there be any jobs after the course? For example I was talking to a girl who did the course and she told me that no one in her class got a job out of it.

I live in Tipp, so staying in Kerry and going home for the weekend is pretty darn dear (even the 70 euro for lodgings might not be enough). Trains are 40 euro round trip

You can see my worries so is the course really worth it?

Media is an area where you need to be able to sell yourself for a lot of the jobs, its not just a matter of doing the course.

If you already find yourself tipping at web design or other similar areas and want to broaden your knowledge and get a piece of paper to prove you can do it, then it is a good idea. If you are willing to go on and get a degree after the level 6, the same applies. But there are people with good degrees in various media areas who can't get jobs, and you will be competing with them.

It is an area where networking, doing a bit of casual work, doing work experience, more networking and doing websites for clubs and associations can result in you finding yourself in a job without quite knowing how you got there.

If you feel you have that kind of initiative, then it could well be worth a go. But if you see yourself sending off a few CV's resulting in a job, its probably not going to happen.

Why don't you check out the Media Dept at Templemore College of Further Ed? Www.tcfe.ie. they have great media programmes there at both level 5 and 6 and a brilliant iMac lab at your disposal. Lots of students got work this year....
