Hi All, how can a 2000 model or thereabouts Peugeot Partner white van be displaying 12-D plates. Seen near Athy on the M9 last week?

    Trade plates more than likely.

Were they green or in the window?

Not trade plate, proper white plates with black numbers screwed on to the back as normal. Took a pic to be sure

There was a post earlier in the week about a land rover i think that had an 80's body but newer chassis. Might be the same for this?

sure why not, also could be a case of the van having never been registered until recently. it does happen. there was a mid 80's honda elite on done deal a while back with a newish reg.
Did it look like a new van or was it looking a bit tired?

The free check on Cartell or Motorcheck will let you know if it's the correct reg for the type of van.

Citroen not Peugeot, sorry. Reg is 12-D-1661. Coming up as so on motorcheck. How come with such an old van?

Same dealer as the 10- or 11-MH reg Xsara I saw before, I'd guess!

The original Partner is still available, or at least it was up until very recently. They call it the Peugeot Partner Origin.

Just looking at this on my phone, it doesn't look like a particularly old model (can only see the back) the older ones have grey indicator lenses, those look like the newer clear type. Also didn't the older ones have a black strip across the doors.

View continued to sell the old model, think its called the enterprise model.

5 door isn't unusual either, it Just means it has one sliding door on the passenger side
(twin rear doors, sliding door and front doors = 5 doors )

I used to drive a Renault Master which was over 5 years old before it was sold and first registered.

    Looks suspicious to me

It's one for the Rogue Traders on Watchdog to look into!

    It's a witch burn it..........

Ken Lyons (Ford Dealer Limerick) used to rally a 88-LK-1000 Mk2 escort. he Declan/Dermot Willmot had it. I presume it was Ken that had it sitting in stock and built it to rally spec from new and put the first registration on it.
