Saw one also last week, really like it.

Similar to the new Toureg they have given the impression of a large estate, sitting quite low. Not an over the top really high riding look at all.

    Hadn't see that,

The Range Rover Sport looks well, but it's only facelifted.

I don't know why MB didn't decide to rename it, considering how much better the newer models are compared to the original disaster.

On the estate riding high look, I saw an XC60 the other day which looked quite well.

Whatever; another name to make a distinction from the original piss poor model.

Where Opel went from Horrid Vectra to insignia, i don't see how Mercedes could do the same as they use letters.

    M

She weighs in at nearly 2.2 tons, I can see that 2.2litre engine struggling.

For pushing on €90k I'd want more than a four-cylinder daysul engine. I'd be looking for the 320CDI for sure.

I agree, a V6 is a must. If I was spending that much on a car I would want at the very least an engine with more cylinders than a €10k Ford Ka.

It's a shame that it's built in America.

It's also a shame that you can't get them for love nor money, I went looking for one a few weeks back to be told I'd have to wait 22 weeks for one.

Not worth the money not even close. Looks like 50k ish worth.

Why are the rear seats in SUVs always so vertical and uncomfortable?

I know what you're on about alright but most are comfortable. We had 7 is A Disco 3 one day, all were comfortable!

My OH isn't really into cars, we were in a Mercdes/Volkswagen/Audi garage and she said I don't really like the look of the Chryslers while looking in the direction of the ML.
We both though the same thing about a car, it was a special moment:)

Rear end looks like it got what was ever left over in the designers dust bin

What price does the commercial ML start at? Could be a nice machine at a much more reasonable price

considering they arent brought into the country as N1 type vehicles, the full VRT would be owed so there would be very little in the way of savings

Mercedes have downsized the ml whereas lexus went the other way with the rx and made the new model bigger,i think its a fine motor.

Im not up to speed with the latest in relation to commercials but you appear to be saying that its not possible to buy one of those new in commercial form?
Can it not be converted before being vrted?

Alternatively, surely a used one can be brought in from uk, then converted and then commercial rate vrt paid? As I say, im not up to speed on this so maybe all that has been stopped?

unless it leaves the factory as a commercial you must pay the full VRT new or when importing. So no more luxury commercials just, land cruisers, discos and pajeros.

Since when did this come about? If it is there should be something done to reverse it. I don't see any reason why anyone shouldn't be allowed to drive what they want, if I want a Porsche Cayenne commercial than I don't see why some clown in the VRT office decides that I can't have it without paying VRT. You've got to love the small minded mentality that runs this country, ffs,.

I think Porsche decided you couldn't have it when they neglected to build it.

I'm pretty sure if I order one direct from Porsche they'd build me one.......

I just don't see why someone living in Ireland shouldn't be allowed to have a luxury jeep commercial instead of a Pajero or a Discovery commercial, some people have to travel for a living and would like to have a nice vehicle to drive for work etc. The idea of not being allowed to commercialise a luxury vehicle is just sour grapes on behalf of the VRT office in my view.

But you can have it, if Porsche build it - and you say that they would. Where's the problem?

What? The come in to the country as passengers and are then commercialised. No jeep ever left the factory commercial

No this have been changed end of 2010 or start of 2011. They now come into this country as commercial rather than being converted as previous.
