BTEA Query

    Just a quick question

I finish up 1st yeat of an honours degree on the 19th May.

Do I have to notify the Social Welfare that my 1st year has finished?

Also, do they automatically switch me over to Jobseekers for the summer months and is there a disruption to payment?

    Many thanks

    :)

The SW should have sent you a form to fill in stating when your course finished for the summer and when you would be recommencing. If you didn't receive it, you should call in to the office and fill it there. They will ask you if your circumstances remain the same and if so they will put you back on the Jobseekers payment. It is usually done pretty seamlessly, especially if your financial circumstances are the same as before you started BTEA. Your payment will revert back to going through the Post Office. If, for some reason, there is a delay in reverting back to Jobseekers payment you could go to the CWO and claim Supplementary Welfare Allowance to tide you over if you are stuck.
