Service before selling?

I'm going to have to sell my car privately. It's an 05 Mondeo estate with a good maintenance record - except that it has not been serviced for just over a year, and so that's now overdue.

If I go and get it serviced now it could end up costing a couple hundred or more. Is it worth investing this money now or is it just money down the drain? Will potential buyers be bothered?

    Thanks for opinions.

Include a service as part of the sale if it looks like becoming an issue..if not an issue for someone then no point in you going to extra expense in advance.

JUst get the oil and filter changed, to many folk that's a service and it being overdue won't help selling it.

I wouldn't buy the car if I knew it was overdue a service and you couldn't be bothered to get that done for a sale. I'd be asking myself what else has been skimped on. An oil change won't cost much.
