Hey all, My dad recently ordered me a new graphics card off Scan.co.uk. I traced the order on the DPD website and it has been out for delivery since 07:15 this morning. I'm expecting the delivery today. The problem is my dad used his details when ordering and he isn't home, will I need to sign to accept the parcel? Thanks.

    They have Rubbish delivery service!!!!!!!!!!!

I am so annoyed with DPD Ireland
If I knew this, would use a standard post. I paid extra money for my parcel to be delivered by Courier ASAP.
I got an email saying it would be delivered delivered on xx.xx.xx. , waited in all day for it and nothing.

Went down to post box and here you are !!! a calling card had been left stating that no one had been there to sign for it.
There was no one there because you didn't ring my doorbell!

Called right away to Customers Service explained them that the calling card been left without any attempt to ring my door bell.
Also explained to her this happened to me before when driver knocked door and dog was barking, but he did not allow any time for me to get to the door so he just left box outside of my door and run away)))

The answer was the driver can't be wrong. A I can only get my parcel next week, not next day.
I know for fact as an example DHL/UPS/ or any other Courier will re arrange delivery for next day, instead of argue with clients.

I think DPD stick with theirs Great rules !!! Customers are always wrong !!! and all customers are liars.

Therefore they did not made any attempt to deliver it even next week, shocking. no attempt to contact me, since, shocking.

DPD told me they'd deliver between 12.00 and 3.00 pm its now going on for 4.22 pm and no sign they have a poor service.

Two weeks ago, there were 3 of us at home in a small semi-d in a housing estate. I was due a DPD delivery, nothing came and no slip in the door. I checked online tracking and it stated no answer - calling card left. I called up DPD and they said that their driver had been in the estate according to GPS, and that they couldn't explain how I had neither package nor missed delivery card.

Today, I was due a delivery between 11-14:00. Checked online tracking at 14:00 and it stated "no access to property".

This is despite it being an open apartment complex with no gates/security, it having a publicly accessible telecoms system, and a DPD driver having delivered no problems the week before.

DPD have an absolutely torrid reputation in the UK, and I'm disappointed that DPD Ireland seem to be heading that way.

I'm pretty sure I didn't get a calling card from these guys but a text instead saying that they would deliver my parcel (which I still haven't got btw) on the day they text me and if I wished to change the day I needed to go to their website which I did and I changed the day and still no sign of my package.

How do I go about getting my parcel does anybody know? I could drive to wherever their office is but don't I need a number of some sort? I have a reference number from the text alright - would this be enough?

I have had 2 dealings with this company this month funnily enough and both have been bad.

Ordered a package on Dec 16, only arrived today delivered by a very rude man. Parcel was only coming from Dublin to Cork. Got no notification that they were delivering and the driver would not wait 2 mins for me to get to the house. Eventually he agreed he would wait but drove passed me without stopping. Never waited. Did all my Christmas shopping online. This was the only negative experience I had. When I rang DPD head office, they weren't much better. The claimed they had text me that morning. Never got it. They made me feel like I was lying. they could have just said they didnt know what happened even! When I said to the driver he should have rang first ( which seems to be the norm with every other courier I have had) he said that wasn't his job and he shouldn't have to wait because he had x amount of parcels to deliver! #God complex! Lady at head office said the same. If he had said grand I'll wait 2 mins it would have been fine but he said 2 mins thats it and I'm gone. Im not waiting. I have x pacels ..... And in the rudest tone you could imagine. Really riled me. The company I ordered from had sent package on Dec 16th and had no contact from DPD after it was sent. DPD claimed to have attempted delivery several times but I got no text, no notification slip. NOTHING. I have dealt with loads of couriers. Find them all good apart from i-parcel. I know some lovely DPD couriers and this guy out of the Cork depot was an exception but I think head office need some training too. Making a customer out to be a liar is maddening!

Yes, like many I have had bad experiences from DPD. I live in a rural area and commonly the claim is that they can't find my cottage.

Recently waited for a delayed Xmas parcel sent by my girlfriend in the UK. She contacted the suppliers who did the legwork to track the parcel. DPD claim they attempted delivery 3 times... (I'm retired and am almost always home).

When I collected the parcel from the local shop... my moblie and house number is written on it but there was no attempt to phone me except for the last time they delivered it to the shop.

I think everyone should make a complaint to the supplying company/retailer - I have and they have contacted me and my girlfriend to establish what happened. I implied I wouldn't use the retailer again if the parcel was going to be sent through DPD. Waiting for their response.

    TT

Yep, they're the worst possible. I have 2 experiences with them and on both occasions they sent me an email notification that my package was out for delivery and on both occasions it never came, the first time i used them It came on the 3rd day of "out for delivery" the 2nd time i used them again it never came on the day but i wasn't surprised.

As far as I can tell they just don't bother to come to you because it's inconvenient and wait for a delivery day when its more convenient for their route, which i dont mind, but why lie to the customer and to your clients telling them it's a "next day deliver service" and waste peoples time waiting for phantom deliveries.

we use dpd for 10k parcels a year and find virtually no issues with them.

However, my own experience (rural address) with couriers and with knowledge, suggests that it is the sender that causes the problems.

Incorrectly entered phone numbers & badly written addresses are the main issues. Also, many people don't answer their phone or are on the phone and don't ring missed calls back.
Post code are coming next year - this will make a huge difference - but only if people use them.

    always found them very good.
the only problem I have with them is that the guy who delivers to my area always comes in the afternoon which isnt always suitable.
