I only discovered this station (88.1) last week and loved it!
This morning it was gone? Anyone know what happened?

real 80s has closed down on fm but you can still listen via their web stream. go to shoutcast.com and search real 80s or search dublin. i tried posting the direct link to the stream but it won't post properly. when i click on it it has the url tag as part of the address.

I'm very highly educated. I know words, i have the best words, nobody has better words then me.

I've been listening to Real 80s for the past while now and noticed that it seems to have gone, come back and gone again in the past week or two.

In its absence, my car radio settled on Easy 91.6, which also seems to be also uninterrupted songs, mostly from the 80s, but maybe also from a couple of years plus or minus.

Out of curiousity, I went to 88.1 on the hi-fi when I got home tonight and a station by the name of Pure FM was belting out techno music on that frequency. When I checked back just now they seem to have switched off again. Odd.

    I'm in D14, BTW.

Anyway, Real 80s was a great station. Hope it's back again!

You know though you can still listen to it on the Tunein app which is available for most smart phones? Or on your desktop here:

Today FM on Friday night is great for 80's music but it would be great to have a station 24/7. Sun Fm went the same way a few years back

To someone interested in developing it I hope rather than a competitor wishing to quash it.
