    Hi,

Has anyone any ideas of a good pub in Dublin city centre to watch the horse racing. My boyfriend likes to do a few bets and watch the racing at the weekend and as we will be in Dublin city on Saturday our plan is to spend a few hours in a pub getting some food and a few drinks. If we could find a pub that shows the racing it would be great. Preferably around Temple bar area.

    any ideas would be great.

No problem, actually i've since found a good one myself where the staff will put the racing on no problem once asked is the Foggy Dew and its located right at Temple Bar too. Better range of beers than most pubs in the location and it does food too.

Yes, but its not exactly handy to a bookie shop is it? (wouldnt fancy crossing 4 lanes of Dame St over and back all afternoon)

Ideally you want a pub with the bookie next door, the tv will generally be on in such places.

Dame Tavern used to be a good racing pub not a million miles from Temple Bar.

Hes with his burd not a pack of Celtic shirt wearing short back and side boorish mates. He can do most of his bets beforehand;).

There's a Paddy Power in Temple Bar I think. Near Westmoreland Street.

Its' still a good 3 mins to that Paddy Power though in fairness from the Foggy Dew

Dont worry about a bookies, the joys of an i phone and online betting :)
Thanks for all the ideas, foggy dew is meant to be a good pub alright so might try that!

I spent rainy afternoon watching the races in Brogan's Bar nexdoor to the Olympia theatre about a year ago. Hacketts bookies is just 2 doors up.

Lovely pub it is too. I keep meaning to call back whenever I'm in Dublin.

If you really want to have fun in Dublin city and want to go to the good horse racing pub, than you can search it from any tourisms sites of Dublin. Else you can also do betting through net, as there are many betting sites which provide horse racing for bet to the wager.
