Hey Callum - what about picking a real world M4 variant and then trying to build a faithful replica? For example you could put together a Canadian 'm4' - the C7 which is made by colt Canada - if you wanted serious authenticity you would have to source a metal body with the correct trades - but there are ways to get close to the look without that.

Or perhaps build an IDF m4 - there are certain mods made to the Israeli issue m4s -the main ones being the sling/sling attachment and the mag holder (google image it and you'll see what I mean).

Why go for the ordinary when you can build something special that will get them all talking about at your local site

Isn't that a slimmed down version of one of your custom builds DeBurca?:D

Yes it is, for now it just needs a adjustable MagPul stock and I am currently machining the mounts for the twin phasers
I was going to add quantum torpedoes but was not sure if they were suitable for this time continuum
After that it just needs a padded sling

I'm trying my best but I just can't find waldo :p

A good way to have a unique M4 is to look at various aftermarket body kits and rail systems and try to find a combination that is unique and looks well. A stock is another area where you can choose something more unique. As was mentioned by MerryDespot, M4 variants of some countries are a good source of inspiration as they have subtle and less subtle differences that can make the M4 unique.

Might not be quite unique but I watched some doc and saw an M4 grenadier (yes I know not a new concept) but It had a very short M16 style heatshield and a few other bits on it, cant find a proper pic on the net of the exact one or that documentary or an airsoft version but looked but looked class...

My description does not do it justice.

Didn't hobbyairsoft get in some G&P M4s with barrel mounted grenade launcher and heatshields a few while ago? Are they anything like it?

There M16's, what I saw was an M4 standard size barrel could have been shorter, with a shortened M16 heatshield (as in a heatshield round the same size a standard M4 handguard) and sights, short M203, and a collapsible stock (I think).

    This?

Stick one of these in and you've got a Colt 9mm

    Picture of G&P M635 , basically a 9mm M4

you could just bling it up to the max. silencer, launcher, put double mags on it or a drum depends what make iv seen some awesome looking doublle drums online before and then a cool looking rds. wont be many people willing to put it all on or spend that much on it but would look awesome lol

if you want unique then why dont you put together a gun with different parts you like eg skeleton stock, crane stock, folding PDW stock or sliding stock like on the G&P Tank model, or short or long barrel with or without RAS attachment you like be it PEQ boxes to UGL's and then spray it tou your own design

If you want to do something truly unique with your M4, leave it stock.

M4's are the gold standard in airsoft - everyone and their dog has one. Every possible combination you can think of, has been done by someone else somewhere, and is guaranteed to be on the same site as you with your wonderfully 'unique' gun.

So instead what you do is build/purchase a gun that is to your taste, to your comfort and tuned to your style of play.

...And then realise that your M4 still looks the same as everyone else's.

You can spend loads, and have something that performs exactly as you want/need, and looks like exactly what you want/need...but it's still an M4, and thus intrinsically the same as the rest :D

wow that's deep Kev :p but pretty much the way it is, I sprayed my M4 OD to part away from the tan but it won't be long till OD comes in and then that will go and another colour will be the bees knees, hell maybe even the normal black will be 'cool' again :)

i agree, with a gun like the m4 you'll never have a truely unique gun but you can make a rare one that most people will usually never see like using the SOCOM lightweight ace stock, the sr25 handguard and maybe a nice optic, take the front iron-sight off and get a loudner instead of a flash-hider with a small lipo somewhere in the gun, that would be an unusual build

  • Registered Users Posts: 5,984 ✭✭✭NakedDex

M4's are Lego. Nothing is unusual. The fact that your idea for an "unusual build" involves stock, off-the-shelf parts, means that it's about as rare as Ford Focus.

If you want an M4 to be unique, I suggest you invest in some machinery and mill your own parts. Milling an ornate lower receiver from a block of brass would be a decent start.

    Or....
Sell it and buy an FNC

want to be unique in Ireland with an m4? built something realistic and accurate in terms of looks, tbh this is rare in the republic especially as everyone try to do to an M4 what an Essex boy does to his ford escort
