Sata II and Sata III

    Looking for some help as I'm confused. Putting together an external hd, (as cheaper that buying assembled). If the hd is sata III, will this fit in a sata II enclosure, or does the enclosure need to be sata III specific.

    no, they're exactly the same connections and physical dimensions and sata3 is backwards compatible, so you're all good.

    and any HDD claiming SATA3 specs is essentially lying/misleading. dont let it sway your decision to choose it over a different SATA2 HDD.
