    Hi All,

Am I correct that at the Irish life mall research room I can look up civil records (death and birth certs)...whilst at the National library I can look up church records (baptisms, marriages)?

I have been using the www.familysearch.org site to get details of the various brick walls that I have hit and now want to go and get the original records to see what additional info I can glean from them.

Below are the records that I need, detail from familysearch.org...have I got the correct locations below, or am I completely off the mark?!

The first of these you will get on a parish register in the NLI. The second looks like it might be a submitted records, in which case you should check the NLI to be sure the transcription is correct.

If you haven't already read our sticky, have a read to understand the difference between church (available in NLI) and civil records (GRO in Irish Life mall)

If you want that many records, and your time in Ireland is limited, it might be best to apply by post for the civil records (consult stickies). It is possible that the certificates will open up new lines of enquiry for you, and you can advance your project a little further while still at home.

That last record, of which Pinky seems so suspicious, looks questionable to me. I'd bet the groom was Patrick McCabe, and that the marriage took place in Roslea, Co. Fermanagh (just up the road from Clones, where McCabe and Slowey are both local names).

I note the Connolly-Cassidy marriage is located in "Clones, Fermanagh, Ireland". Clones is not in Co. Fermanagh; it's in Co. Monaghan, albeit on the border between the counties (and also on the border between the Irish Republic and Northern Ireland).

Second thoughts: there is another local name, less common than McCabe, that might be a better guess - McCague.

The civil indexes on FamilySearch have matches for Anne Slowey marrying Patrick M'Cage and Patrick M'Cague.

The oddness with the addresses is probably just down to part of the registration district of Clones being in Fermanagh.

OP, if some of the death certs you have listed are possibles for the same person, in case you don't know, if you can narrow it down eg to a specific address you can ask the GRO to only send you the correct one.

Thanks all for your help, I am based in Dublin so will be bringing a friend along with me to help with the cert allowance thing.
And yes, I will try to narrow it down so I only get the correct cert.
To be honest i am pretty excited about getting these certs as I have been banging my head against this brick wall for some time!
