With all the detailing buzz around here lately I though I'd throw up a couple of pics of the wife's car after I gave it a good clean and wax today. Look pretty good considering it hasn't been cleaned since Christmas

Try meguiars endurance tyre gel if you haven't yet. Very easy to put on and lasts quite well.

Thats what i have at the moment and it is pretty good on tires with smooth side walls but on sidewalls with a "pattern" it is harder to apply.

I also don't get as good a shine as ND got on the IQ.

    Its this stuff:

I have a 20L drum of it and apply it with a paint brush. Always stays nice and shiny for ages...weather dependant.

With any of the gel type dressings, its very difficult to apply it to a "patterned" side way. I generally apply it quite thick to the side wall and then as ND said, use a paint brush to work it into the areas I've missed.
Best applied to a dry tyre to get a really shiney look off it....for those who prefer a matt look, just give it a quick wipe with an old microfiber cloth, it will take the glossy look off it.

Thanks Curran, I worked out that technique and I'm getting the results I wanted now :D

Thanks for your help all the same.

Make sure to buy smooth side wall tyres next time! :D
From my experience....Michelin's Pilot Super Sports are about the smoothest....not cheap though! :p
