Looks like I need to change from my 07 Focus hatchback to an MPV of some sort as baby number two on the way.

Really like my Focus hatch but don't think it will be big enough for two now. Have been looking at the Ford C-Max online and I like the look of it. Could anyone recommend another MPV or give me any info on the C-Max as a car.

Budget is 8 to 8.5k (that includes a hopefully 6k trade in on my focus).
Min year is 2007 and max miles of 60k.

Thanks for that. Are the picasso and scenic good in terms of reliability?

The C-Max is basically a MPV version of the Focus, it will have most of the same pros and cons as the car you have. The original C-Max only comes as a 5 seater.

    This should be within budget:

Yeah, the CMax is basically a fat Focus, not much difference here.
It's a five seater, if that's good for you, go ahead, you know it makes sense.:D

Cheers. Yeah only looking for a 5 seater. 7 seaters just seem like a bus to me. Trying to have the best of both worlds I guess with the C-Max. Think I'll end up going for it unless there's any issues with it in terms of reliability etc. Although it being pretty much a focus, I would hope not.

Corolla Verso. We have one and it's reliable giving 55 mpg of diesel average. Goes up to 62 mpg on motorway drives.

Corolla Verso is a 7 seater so you will compromise boot space for the extra two seats that you don't need. I don't know if the 2 extra seats can be removed.

The seats are normally closed so it's actually a full sized boot.

That looks interesting. At least I've got something to compare the cmax to. Cheers.

Similar to the verso is the mazda 5. Just bought an 07 one and loving it.
    Here is a similar one

    http://www.cbg.ie/car_detail.aspx?ID=4857390

2 seats are in the boot which fold down flat simply by pulling a little belt leaving a large boot. The second row of seats also fold down flat leaving a HUGE boot if moving something massive.
Have 2 kids and it is looking ideal for us when shopping or bringing someone else with us when the car seats are already in.
