Eircom alternative

    I received a letter from Eircom indicating that they may be in a little trouble can any one recommend an alternative and value is my criteria . Hope this does not breech any product rules ,as always thanks .

    What services? Where do you live?

    Your services should be totally unaffected by the money woes though.

    Alternatives:

    Check www.callcosts.ie for DSL providers if you want to continue with DSL services. They're all much of a muchness.
    Some do better deals with larger caps, but overall they're all using the same technology, so the performance on your line will be similar to eircom.

    UPC cable is vastly superior in terms of speed as it's a totally different technology. Available in most major urban areas if there's cable running past your house.

    Various fixed-wireless access products like Digiweb Metro, Nova Networks (Cork) etc etc provide products that go up as high as 20-30mbit/s. Just watch out for caps.

    Are you sure about that letter?
    Eircom are still looking for business. They're not going to tell you they're in trouble, are they?:rolleyes:

    I got a similar letter for my meteor account just explaining things and saying service wouldnt be affected. but ya they did send out letter to everyone.
