UPC Digital TV box connecting to LG LCD TV

I recently bought a new LG LCD TV and am unable to connect correctly to my UPC Digital box.

On my old tv, I had the box connected to HDMI port 2 and it was working fine. However, on this new LG, I cannot appear to get the picture through any of the HDMI ports which I connect to. (Keeps saying "no signal")

UPC box does appear to be working correctly as the narrative of each channel is appearing on the front of the box. Can alternate between channels etc. but no picture at any point...

    Can anyone help?
    Thanks

If your new TV is not working correctly seriously consider bringing it back ASAP before they claim it's your fault. Also consider bringing the TV and the UPC box to the store and asking the store to get it working for you.

Try the box with a normal TV first just to make sure it has not suddenly gone faulty. Also plug the UPC box out and in and wait 5 minutes and try again.

Yout could ring UPC but I wouldn't expect them to know anything more than try the usual.

If you have a blu-ray player or laptop with HDMI output this would be an obvious test before bringing back the TV.

I have an LG and it doesn't pick up UPC through HDMI unless the UPC Box is switched on before going to the HDMI Channel, if I go to the HDMI channel & then turn the UPC on from stand-by it does not recognise it, it just stays as a fuzzy screen.

I might have these mixed up, but from memory you cant have a Scart lead connected as well as a HDMI lead, with the black UPC boxes, you have a choice to use one or the other.

Second point would be, most new TV's on the market don't have Scart connections its all HDMI or PC, DVI etc.. so the first point is e-relevant or your Scart is connected to a home cinema system? use phono connections instead.

HDMI lead length is very important, signal quality must be adequate for a variety of different TV's, what length is your HDMI lead and or have you tried a short cable?

Either way the result would be intermittent signal loss or no signal at all.
