Firefox home page and google auto complete

If one sets home page to about:home in firefox that awful google auto complete is gone but when you go to the search results and edit the search the google autocomplete comes on. Is there anyway to turn that ff example type space from the about:home page and then put the cursor after space in the resuts and it throws up…
