Upgrading suspension

I've this posted in the general motors section for nearly a week now and no responses so said I'd try here! I know its only a micra but its my first car and I have it 12 years so far and intend on keeping it for good.

    Suspension Kit for March/Micra

I've a '98 March for which I'm about to get new wheels and I was hoping to drop the car a bit and improve the suspension while I was at it.

These are two kits I was looking at on europeperformance.co.uk and would appreciate people's advice or suggestions on these or other kits. Now I don't want a rock solid car as its only a micra but something sporty (I'll probably put a strut brace on too).

This kit looks decent enough but has original length shocks on lowered springs so will that cause problems?

This kit seems ok but a bit pricy. Is it worth spending that much....I'll only be doing around 6 to 10 k miles a year max, could be less as its a second car.

Bilstein make a good kit and have a good name. I have no idea what the spring rates are on those springs so I cant guess at how comfortable your car will be after.

Overall the micra is a pretty good handler for a small hatch. Though the chassis could use a little bracing.

Thanks for that. Would a strut brace at the front be enough bracing or is there anything else I could do?

Front strut braces along would rarely make any difference that most people would notice.

Uprated anti roll bars would give a huge improvement, especially coupled with good quality springs/dampers.

Allot of these get used as junior rally cars in the uk. If I was looking for hints I'd start looking on rally forums to see what works and what doesn't.

Before I left Ireland I was trying to find a k10 to re-live my youth and first car.

Thanks lads. I'll do some homework and hopefully put something together. Ye have given me something to think about. I aim to always have the car and I'd like to do the job once and do it right and have it handling pretty good.

Would coilovers be better than a lowering kit so and also if I upgrade the anti-roll bars should I put a strut brace on too?
