How to work out prorate salary

I can't seem to find any legislation on this for Ireland. I know in the UK they calculate it as follows: Gross salary/260 days*number of working days worked in the month.

When I'm prorating a salary I take the gross salary, divide by 52, then divide by 5 and get their daily rate that way, even if they're paid on a monthly basis. Can anyone tell me if this is correct or not?
