    http://www.tcd.ie/courses/postgraduate/az/course.php?id=DPTCS-IDME-1F09

Is anyone studying this course? I will be graduating from Computer Science next year and would like to pursue a career in UX design.
How well respected is this course by employers? What type of projects are assigned? What are the course fees? The website says €2750, is this accurate or is it a lot more?
Any help would be much appreciated.
    Thank you

Just to add to that, are graphic design topics covered? Is there much use of Adobe software such as illustrator, Fireworks and Photoshop? Thanks again!

Assuming you're an EU citizen, that's the final price, registration and all included.

It doesn't include the sports centre charge and USI charge which in total is about 80 euro, I think.

I'm currently doing exams for this course.

My fees were covered by a grant - if you're eligible you should apply for one.

As far as job prospects go the course co-ordinator seems pretty well connected in regards to employers and apparently graduates of this course are sought after.

The scope of material is very broad and through a great deal of topics are covered there isn't really the time to go into any great detail into all of the topics.

Graphic Design theory is covered but not use of software like the Adobe CS. We did use Pov-Ray, 3D Studio Max and Processing. They were to be used in assignments.

As far as assignments go, most were pretty practical - using the software to generate material. Though there were a few essays as well.

I've really enjoyed the course but I know that some of my classmates were frustrated as they felt the material wasn't explored in enough detail. I suppose you need to ask yourself what you are planning to get from the course - a wide array of information that you will have to explore further your self, or in depth knowledge of a small amount of material?

Sorry I know I'm a bit late on this but out of interest, were the students accepted for the course primarily computer science/IT graduates?

    +1

I've applied to this course and am worried about the level of programming required, some of it seems intense.
