hello, does anyone know if there is any difference in the grants and premiums between this and the normal afforestation scheme? For say oak,ash or beech? Do the requirements differ greatly? Tks in advance

Read the two documents as they give details of requirements and grants. If your questions are not answered then ring the forestry section here in Johnstown castle here, they are very helpful:
