Earlier in the season Emre made racist comments to Zokora (formally of Spurs) during a game and picked up a whopping two game ban for it. Seems he has form for doing it as he got away with the same thing when playing for Newcastle against Everton in 2007, along with against Bolton and Watford too.

Anyway, Emre and Zokora came face to face again last night and this was the result:

pure scum by zokora on emre there. i do not care what happened in the past but to intentionally go out of your way to cause harm to someone else is the way of a scumbag in my eyes. its unethical and brings the whole racism back into light and a few hundred more idiotic racist morns will jump all over this and more than likely zokora and his family will receive death threats and racist slurs.

I can only hope the referee remembered the racist comments just as he was looking for his red and decided he was only arsed to give a yellow.

In defense of the people in charge of the Turkish League. Emre was not charged with racially abusing Zokora. He denied it and was backed by the club and team mates. He was only charged with abusive language which is why it was a 2 game ban. It would have been longer had it been proven of course.

I knew there would be some Newcastle connection in the OP.

The pressing issue here is whether or not they made t-shirts?

I would agree if he broke his leg or seriously hurt him, i think he knew he would not seriously hurt him with that kind of challenge.

He got away with it... i.e not a racist...

    C'mon now Paully lad.

If players realise they only get a yellow for kicking Emre in the bollix I'd imagine they'll be lining up to do it in future.

You have been lucky enough to have never had a kick in the nutsack like that then. Give me a broken leg any day of the week.

I must say I am tickled by the people who call Keane a scumbag for his tackle on Haaland and the premeditation of it who are overjoyed at this :)

    Nice tackle btw

In spite of the fact that they're not really that similar?

Zokora's just not that type of player

Lovely tackle. For Emre, not so much anymore :pac:

If players could do that in the Premier League and only get a yellow then I think that John Terry might be spending more nights in with the family.

Imagine a club backing a player for racist behaviour, disgusting.

It makes more of a statement than any insincere UEFA ad campaigns could ever do. You can't be a pacifist in life when someone is trying to hurt you.

Like a boss. Never did like Emre, even with that free kick vs the mackems.

Haha nice way of getting revenge.

Enough of this respect nonsense, and so on, if you racially abuse a player, the penalty should be getting a kick in the nuts...would get rid of racism overnight.
