I have a Black SK100 Cooper, but old style one's are the best helmets around. No other helmet is next or near a Cooper. Mycro's and Azzurri helmets just aren't the same.

Best in terms of what? or what do you judge them on? Just wondering :), most people in all the clubs around me has a mycro, can't see anything wrong with them at all, and I've always had a mycro myself, no complaints about them.

Best in terms of everything. Old style Cooper helmets are just perfection. First of all, there's the players choice. Then there the coolest looking, nicest design, nice shape, light, safe(not saying that others aren't, because they are). And most important, there the comfiest. After a while the helmet moulds into the shape of your head giving you the ultimate fit and comfort. I'm not biased either. I've been wearing a Mycro all my career up through the ranks until I bought a black cooper this year and I won't look back either.

Well boys, just wondering about faceguards for a Cooper. What are the different types of faceguard, all I know is Kilkenny and Tipperary style. Are there any others? What faceguards are the best, Kilkenny one's? Also, how much do they cost nowadays? If anyone has any photos of the different types of faceguards I'd appreciate if you put them up. Thanks in advance lads

On seeing the title of this thread i decided id put up a picture of 2 unusual helmets worn by 2 respective Kilkenny players in the past. Can anyone tell me what is the original purpose these helmets were designed for? I doubt Hendersons gave him much protection but he had a fair mop of hair so that might have protected him :D

Powers helmet looks more like an Ice hockey helmet but id say it done the job.
