Saorview & Recorder

There isn't one yet. Only Saorview boxes with an optional Recording feature.

I'd not trust a cheap pixmania "media player". It may tune Irish channels, or not. But it's not even Freeview or FreeviewHD compatible. It's a complete gamble. It's likely not a true PVR (with dual tuners). Humax and Sony "real" PVRs for "Freeview HD" are known to mostly work (some short falls) with Saorview, but only really recommended if you can get Wales, IOM or N.I. Freeview as well as Saorview. Otherwise you are better off waiting till a real Saorview PVR is released.

I'd also suspect that Pixmania product not only has only one tuner but that you have to separately buy a HDD for it.

    Hi all,
Is this box here : http://www.pixmania.ie/ie/uk/7089803/art/energy-sistem/full-hd-multimedia-player.html

    Compatible with saorview?

Or does anybody have any recommendations on a good Saorview box with a recorder built in?
    Many thanks

I have not seen ANY Saorivew box with INBUILT storage.

The one you linked to is not branded as Saorview compatable. Generally you should go for a box that carries the logo.

There is no true dual tuner Saorview Tuner box available yet with series link. One might come out in the next year. Until then any Saorview box will do. Some can record what you are currently watching but that is not nearly as useful as a true dual tuner PVR with series link.

Most cheap boxes can record if you buy a hard drive seperately.

If you want to record BBC etc better to go for a Freesat+HD box and a seperate Saorview box.
