Seagate 500Gb Portable beeping sound and not recognised

    Hi guys,

    Basically I have this 500GB Seagate drive and all of a sudden it starts making a beeping sound when I plug it in.

    The green light still comes on but it is not recognised by my computer.

    I have the drive in a case so I'm hoping that its only the USB is stretched.

    If that's the problem, I presume all I need is a new case right?

    Does anyone have a solution for this problem?
