    Hi everyone,
Was just looking for some advice about my situation don't know what I'm expecting to hear to be honest.
I'm a first year student in college in Dublin. This is my second go at first year since I had to drop out last year for personal reasons and I'm really stressed out over it. I'm in the middle of my exams and they're going really really badly. I've sat 4 so far and I'm pretty sure I've failed all of them, including two that I was pretty good at and did really well in the assignments for. My problem is that I'm so so stressed over them. I haven't been able to focus on study at all, could spend hours crying or just fall asleep for the entire day and wake up even more. I feel so depressed and angry with myself. I can't even focus in the exams to remember answers even for things that I have studied and I actually started crying and hyperventilating during my practical. I'm just so angry with myself all the time and constantly feel like I've made the wrong decision with going back to college so soon after leaving only last year. I should have waited and I know my parents will be so upset if I fail everything. I'm not going to be able to repeat first year again so if I don't get the repeats or they don't let me sit them if I've failed everything it's all over. I never got stressed over exams in school and I feel like I'm not as clever as I used to be.
I don't even know what question I'm asking, I guess I'm just wondering has anyone had similar problems with exams?

OH OP I just want to pick you up and give you a squeeze, you are so young and although most in your class probably dont show it they are more than likely going through the same feelings

Its not all over if you fail the exams or the repeats, you must be what 18/19 years old, you can take a few years off and go back as a mature student which is 23 and really not that old

Or you actually may have passed, I remember doing my leaving many moons ago and have a nervous breakdown as I though I failed a lot of my exams and to help matters along my last exam was the biggy I needed honours in a honours paper and I was sure I failed I cried my eyes out but I had an interview for a job straight after so had to pull myself together and get my ass over the job interview needless to say I didnt get the job lol but guess what I passed the exams even the one I balled my eyes out at....so there is always hope dont jump the gun

Also I did go to college straight after school but never ended up getting work out of my course so when I was a mature student yes 23 I went back and studied a completely different subject that as a "mature" person having lived life a bit and had lots of work experience I had more of an idea as to what I wanted to do with my life

It is completely ridiculous that at 18/19 we are making life decisions as to what our careers are going to be, its nice if it works out be I know lots of people for who it didnt work out and went back to study later in life and changed careers to something more suitable to them

Yes your parents will be a bit peed off but so what they will get over it and I'm sure that all they really want for you in life is to be happy

So stop stressing and just concentrate on what you have to do at the minute , you have put in the hard work so you know you can do it so relax and breath you know this stuff

    peace and love OP x
