Any suggestions for mounting options for the GoPro camera.

The actual mount sold by GoPro is meant to snap off regularly. Any alternatives?

Don't know of any non official go-pro mounts but the chest works great and is very secure. If that doesn't suit you you could tape it on the original mount sounds crude but it may offer the extra support.

the chesty is by far the best!!!!

the vented helmet mount can be wrapped around the frame but you get a lot of vibration.

if you have any spare light/reflector brackets you can modify them to fit one of the extension bars that u get with the camera that turns 90', and then mount the camera on that (thats what i did) saves u buying the handle bar mount.

Also if its a sunny day either use the open back door or get the anti fog inserts cause it condensates up in the sun

Why would they intend it to snap off?

its from being tightened and loosened, i haunt had any personal experience of this but i have heard a lot of ppl say this on the web

Eyeofmine in the US do all sorts custom gopro stuff and they ship it directly or alternatively they're also to be found in some shops in UK. There's at least one other company that does this sort of thing too, but I can't remember the name of it offhand.

The GoPro mounts aren't great quality - I had one snap as I was taking it off a seatpost mount. Chesty is defo the most useful one (IMO).

But the OP claims it's meant to do so?

I think The OP meant that they are KNOWN to snap rather than MEANT to snap; They are indeed known to snap off whilst trundling down your hill of choice.

I've done this with a MUVI camera and would highly recommend it for fitting to handlebars. I super-glued one of the camera mounts (with a swilel fixture) that came with the camers to an old light clamp and put a thick rubber bands under the clamp to dampen vibrations.

I have the gopro one and yes they are inclined to snap. K-Edge mounts are what the official mount should be and wiggle sell them.

I've done this too with a normal digital camera recently, reasonably pleased with the results, certainly a good budget option. Neither of these videos were made with any dampening material on the mount.

So after using it for over a month now - I can say that it's brilliant.

I'll try see if I can get some footage of it up later.

Road. Mostly for the interesting bits like descending.

Footage of climbing is actually pretty boring.

Much vibration? I wrap a bit of rubber from a tube around the bars before I attach official gopro mount to give it better grip and take some of the vibration out.

I got a WiFi bacpac for mine. Very handy you can control the camera as if you were in front of it, the screen on the remote shows exactly whats on the screen of the gopro. Remote attaches to your wrist or any where esle you want to put it.

Video should be up in a while... I can see no vibration with it.

What can you do with the remote? I guess start/stop video and change from video to photo?

    Here's the video

Audio wasn't edited on purpose - TURN DOWN SPEAKERS BEFORE PLAYING

As mentioned in the description it was compressed a lot to get it under the size limitations of Vimeo, but you get the effect.

    enjoy -

You can do anything that you can do with the buttons on the camera, so start stop, change modes, change the config etc. The remote has the same screen thats on the front of the gopro so you can see battery levels, how much space is left on the card etc.
