Hi. I'm trying to figure out the best way to get from Our Lady's Hospital in Crumlin to the Dundrum Town Center. I know car would be simplest but I'm getting the train up to Dublin so it's not an option. I was figuring I'd need to get the bus into town and then the Luas from St. Stephen's Green. Is this the quickest way? Also how long will it take?

    Thanks.

The best way I think would be to walk down to Crumlin Village and get the 17 (towards Blackrock Rail Station). That bus stops at the Luas bridge in Dundrum, easy walking distance.

There are two options, you can take a bus from Drimnagh Road to the city centre, the 27, 56A, 77A, 122, 123 or 151 will all take you to College Green. The 27, 56A, 77A and 151 take about 25 minutes, the 122 and 123 might take about 30 minutes. From College Green, it's about a 10 minute walk to St. Stephens Green to take the Green Line Luas to Dundrum, which is about a 15 minute journey. It's a 5 minute walk from the Luas to the Dundrum Town Centre.

The other option is to walk from Our Lady's Hospital to Crumlin Village, this is a 10/15 minute walk. From here you can take the 17 bus which will take you to Churchtown Avenue (beside Dundrum Luas bridge). From here, its a 10 minute walk through Dundrum Village to the town centre. The 17 will take about a 25 minutes from Crumlin to Dundrum, although depending on when you plan to travel, I'd advise to check the timetable, as its not the most frequent. On average, buses run every 20-35 minutes Monday to Friday, every 40 minutes on Saturday and every hour on Sundays.

Great. Thanks. I'll check the timetable.

As a local, I'd suggest the 122 and get off around Camden Street and hop onto the Luas at Harcourt stop. An 18 from the hospital to Ranelagh and a Luas would be another option from about the same stop. Either option has maybe 2 minutes of a transfer and shouldn't take more than 35 minutes travel.

These are the best options. The 17 is great in that it doesn't require a transfer, but the walks either end might not suit some.

Sounds like a good option. Thanks.
