Guitar fast movement

    Just wondering how people here would move from the start of the tab at the notes
    played on the fifth fret to the F chord.
    How would you go about holding down the 3 strings on the fifth fret basically.
    I am confuse:p

    I was using my index finger on the third fret, then moving it to the fifth fret to bar those 3 strings. But moving quickly to the F chord is difficult.
    How would other go about it?

    I'd play the C note with my first finger and then do the slide with my third (ring) finger holding down all three notes (A, E, C). That way your hand has a bit less work to do to play the F chord.

    It's also possible to play the same notes by staying around fifth position all the way.

    If you want to start in first position, the fourth finger is also a possibility for the barre slide to CEA, depending on your hand strength and string tension.

    This is the best looking option!

    A lot of people don't realise they can manipulate tabs if they don't like the way it's been tabbed. There are many positions for every chord and note.

    I'm not saying you are one of those people, OP, because I don't know you, so that wasn't directed at you!

    I'm primarily a classical guitarist, so I spend a lot of time reworking fingerings to suit the idiosyncrasies of my own hands, but it's something any player can benefit from. We all have different strengths -- and of course, playing in different positions gives you different timbres, so it's very satisfying to get the most expressive sound for any sequence.
