I think it's a similar price in B&Q with their bank holiday weekend 20% off (which ends today). The 9.5 kW version is ~€224 too.

I would recommend getting one with a larger element as it may not heat a lot of water in the winter and the shower will be a trickle.

+1 for above. Definitely go for the 9.5kv

Interesting, do you know are the positions for the pipe and wiring all the same as other Triton showers for these models? Looking at a replacement myself soon as they seem to last about 5 years max and having to replace, possibly because they are not powerful enough.

To get normal shower temperature you have to reduce the flow rate to the point where the thermostat cuts out and then you get thermal cycling hot, cold, hot, cold. Thats what give electric showers their bad name. Theres an 8.5kw in my parents house and its not used at all in winter, they have a 10.5kw one that ok. We have 10.5kw mira and that fine too.

If replacing an existing 8.5 shower, ensure the wire can cope with the larger wattage if you want the 9.5. As far as I can remember I had to stick with 8.5kW when my last triton gave up.

Btw, it works fine all year and the water temp out is constant but its off the cold tank not mains.

I remember years ago getting a 9.5 kw shower for my folks only to be told by their electrician that there would need to be a lot of rewiring done to handle it. Anyone with an older house would do well to heed the above advice.
