OS free laptops/netbooks

Hi there

I'm seriously considering purchasing a really cheap netbook or laptop without any operating system to give Linux a go on.
Does anyone know of a place on the internet where I could get one?
I know Asus used to sell dirt cheap notebooks with a Linux OS but they seem to have stopped now.

You might find that you get a better spec machine with Win installed for the same price or less than one with no OS.

It is difficult to pay extra for less PC despite one's wish not to support MS .....

Just ignore the operating system and buy the best laptop/netbook you can within your budget. Then when you get it just wipe Windows and install GNU/Linux. That way you get the most hardware for your money and the OS you want.

Dell are releasing an ultrabook with Ubuntu 12.04 in mind.

Little known fact is that you can return OEM Microsoft licenses for a refund.
It is part of EULA. If you don't agree to it you can return the license to the OEM or Microsoft directly.
Tier 1 OEM licenses are in the €50 region.

Can be a nice refund on a cheap laptop.

I'm quite sure that MS is still counting it as a "sold copy"

I bought from pcspecialists and it was, I think, 79 pounds cheaper for "no system" option comparing to some windows version. It's a custom laptop, so the price could be with some charge for installation of the system.
