Mandarin duck pair - coloured male, white female?!

Hi, I was out looking at a swans nest today and we spotted a mandarin duck pair! The male was normal and colourful, but the female was pure white? I know the females are usually brown, and that white varieties can occur but is it normal to see this pairing? So interesting! Also, does anyone know how common it is to see…

I'd guess the drake doesnt look on her as being very different much like Mallard dont care what the duck or drake looks like.
