    Hi All

I reinstalled Windows 7 on my Vaio. I have a problem the Fn /hotkeys (sound, brightness, etc) don't work now on it. I have searched the Vaio site but no help. I tried to install drivers from Sony Hot Keys Utilities but still not working.

    Any help much appreciated :(

Do you have a folder called windows.old on the c drive?

Let me guess in Device Manager you are missing a driver, something called firmware interface or similar? I think theres two drivers you need to control the hotkeys, the applicaton plus an actual driver file which are seperate, have a look on the Vaio site for the item that is missing in device manager (look at the properties of the missing device and google the HWID string).

Oh I do actually but when I tried to delete it as my HDD was full not all files deleted. I wonder if I actually deleted the necessary files :(

The Windows.old folder will only have user data, drivers etc are usually deleted. Is there any unidentified device in the device manager? Also I've found in the past the Sony support site to be quite poor and in accurate, try downloading the Vista hotkey driver and see if it helps
