I have this 35mm 1.8 Nikon lense and I was thinking about selling it and buying this Sigma? Give me your thoughts. Good or bad? Im using a Nikon 3100D.

Have you used a 50mm lens before? Some people (including myself) find it too 'tight' on a cropped sensor. IMO the 30mm range is perfect

    35mm f/1.8 you mean?

the sigma will be more like an 85mm f/1.4 with the crop sensor. Great for portraits but maybe a bit limiting.

the 35mm is a great all round lense...

Looking at getting something new anyways. About 400-500euro to spend. I have that nikon 35mm and a sigma 200-70mm 2.8 aswell.

I have the Nikon 50mm f1.8 and as mentioned above, I find it it too tight on a crop sensor. I'm tempted to switch to the 35mm version but I hear the bokeh isn't a pleasing...

I mostly use a Sigma 17-70 f2.8-4 and find it very versatile, it might fit in nicely with the lenses you have already (I would like to own that trio myself), or maybe a Sigma/Tamron 17-50 f2.8?

I have the 35mm 1.8 and the 50mm 1.8. I can't remember the last time I took the 35mm off my digital camera. For me it was always the more versatile. I found the 50mm a bit close sometimes and could easily achieve the same shot using the 35 and moving my feet a bit.
