Is there anywhere in Letterkenny for someone like me to go and meet people? I'm a 43 year old returned divorced man (been away over 15 years) and it seems that every place in town is aimed at the 'yoof' market. So my query is, is there any place in Letterkenny with live music where I won't feel like a the dirty uncle who ogles the kids?

You could try McGinleys. It gets a good mix of age groups.

Same with the Central on Main St. The main bar of the Orchard has a good mix usually.

Carahouse have a drop in tea room where adults can meet, chat and drink tea. You may be able to meet others there who would be interested in socialising with you.

You could always have a look at this

I know they had a night or two of "socialising" in Kee's hotel in Stranorlar recently. There was a similar group a few years ago and they had nights arranged in different towns around the county but Im not sure if the present group work that way or not.

There are contact details in the link so you can always ring and see if they have anything planned for Letterkenny

Thanks for the suggestions everybody, I'm just getting settled at the moment including a job that involves shifts, so haven't had much of a chance to check much of them out with the exception of the Central, which seems to be a bit of a 'local bar for local people'.

As far as I can remember Josies down the end of Main Street always used to have an older crowd? Not even sure if that's what it's called anymore...
