F.I.S. Payment Query

    Hi,

I really hope someone can help me. Applied for F.I.S. in November and they requested more info last week. Sent back the additional info and checked my bank account today and there is a payment into the account from F.I.S. However can anyone tell me does the backdated amount and the weekly amount all come together. The amount in the account is frighteningly small so i'm not sure whether its 22 weeks backdated amount or possibly 4 weeks of a payment. I received no letter from them to say that the claim was approved or how much of a payment we will receive and i'm worried sick over it and can't contact them until Tuesday.

    Thanks for your help :)

FIS is paid weekly every thursday. So thats one payment you've received.
You will receive the backdated sum in a lump sum usually 2 weeks after the first payment. ;) Should be 22 times the amount you received.

Thank you so much for your reply. It seems like it might be a bit high for one week. Would they have paid two or three weeks together possibly.

If you had a change in pay in the 42 weeks before you applied, they may have disregarded what amount you sent in and used an average of you pay in the 42 weeks before you applied, if so then you would be awarded a lower amount. This could explain if the amount you received is a small amount multiplied by 22

Thanks yes this is what's frightens me. This would work out at the minimum €20 per week. It seems very unfair to calculate the average of the 42 previous to the pay reduction when clearly that's not what we're getting now..................stressed!

This is what happened to me, but they called me to tell me, so I'm going to re-apply in June when the payment will be 7 times more than it would be if they did approve me this time.

Thanks for youse help and fingers crossed for you in June. Does anyone know is there any chance that they pay two or three weeks together at the beginning. I thought they are supposed to text you also letting you know the amount you will be receiving.
