Engine looks too clean, with the mention of no oil! There are few reasons to clean an engine bay that much unless selling a concourse car.

Should be fine as a 1st car. With only 64k on the clock, the engine could well be nice and clean.

Not too sure about the newer models of Swifts - google "Carsurvey.org" look up the Swift reviews and most will say they had a 90's one, loved it, upgraded to 02??? onwards, and regretted. :Edit- got the model year change wrong- Thats the older model, indestructible. Check the gearbox carefully(ignore EVERYTHING else)- it is the only, single, weakness(and is a rare fail at that)- everything else is easily repaired or will never break. Gearbox can baulk at going/staying in third or fifth which is failed/failing synchro but a rebuild is not crazy money and you will never kill this car if you keep oil and water in check. Downside is, DO NOT CRASH it. Sadly, the same applies to Nissan Micras of this era - great car, very tough(rusty crossmembers aside) but I would never let anyone I cared about drive one. They are simply a deathtrap in a collision and the other driver in a modern car will walk away unscathed - An NCAP car hitting a 90's era supermini will penetrate past the drivers compartment unscathed- you will not be. Same goes for Puntos, Fiestas, etc etc. Buy a 04 onward car. Just do. The price of driving one of these is just far more, often, than the euros you save.

Should be cheaper. For a 2001 they are a very very old hat. Reliable as it gets though, but dull as it comes.

I've driven them. Basic, cheap and reliable. Bit like the starlet. The 1l is a wee bit slow, but economical. Not a bad car to learn in.
