expansion vessels

    im replacing 4 18 litre expansion vessels in a plant room and was wondering would it be acceptable to install a gate valve between them and the booster sets for further maintenance what your views on it ???good or bad practice???

    good man hsan this a maintenance contract in a very well known building grown up stuff:)did you get your 1 1/4 hg connected to your 1" copper in the end:o??? i was listening to the news all the week waiting to hear of a diy enthusiast after being drowned in his own house but then i thought rats are good swimmers

    no i just think its pointless when theres people giving advice when they dont actually know the answer themselves.now ill let you get on with your thread but your probably better off to call a plumber and it will be done right

    As its not for expansion it would be ok they are for pressure , it would be probably a good idea to use lockshield valves or else remove the head off the gatevalves , also remember if the pump sets are for potable water to fit potable water vessels and you might have to pump up the vessels a bit more eg . If you want your pumps to pump up to 4 bar you need over 4 bar in the vessels otherwise the pumps will run constantly . If you were fitting vessels for expansion you would never fit a valve before it.

    hsan you sound like a terrorist but a plumbing terrorist is probably more like it sure you didnt know how to join two common types of domestic plumbing pipes you were on here last week in a panic scouring the internet for info jesus man you have lost any street cred you had you should try get out of the plumbing game and get a job less "challenging" a lolly pop lady pops to mind:)
