Hi there guys I always take out the clubs the evening before I play and I see a near 2 inch split in the face of my 4 month old driver. Gutted, pissed off, raging ect. My father in law gave it to me as a gift and I won't be going there for a receipt, just not my style. Have I any other options apart from take my beating???????

I'd put up a photo but don't seem to be able to copy and paste from my iPhone. How to do it?

Take it back to where you got it and ask them to change it.

I'll be honest with ya I'd take my beating rather than ask him to give me a receipt. 100% wrong statement coming up, it'd feel ungrateful.

Get in contact with TaylorMade, more than likely they will sort you out without proof of purchase.

They will be able to tell manufacture date from serial number, and they will be able to recognize the cause of the crack also e.g manufacturing fault.

A lot company's don't require proof of purchase when it comes to substandard products. Since receipt or no receipt it's still a TaylorMade Driver, relatively new line product. If it had a manufacturing fault they will want to rectify it.

    Contact TaylorMade..!

Happened to my Tm driver r7 before brought it to a shop where I didn't buy it to enquire about a replacement. The owner (golfstyle in Galway ) took it out back and gave me a brand new one no questions asked. I brought it second hand from a friend.

I don't understand. Tell him the truth.....the club failed so you want to ask the supplier for a replacement. I'm not sure what the problem is; these things happen.

We're not that kind of family, or to put it more accurately they're not like that. He went to big trouble to find out what brand, flex and loft I use and money was no object when purchasing and it's only a few weeks ago. He kinda put himself out on a limb is the best way I could explain it. I'll try to contact tm but if no luck I'll replace it.

Just wondering if anyone can help me. I was putting my 3 iron into the bag this evening (after hitting a few practice balls with it) and noticed a lump gone out of the sole of the club. I've attached a pic. What I am wondering is if it's possible to repair something like this or will I have to replace it?

    Its an AP2 710.
    Thanks in advance.

As it on the sole of the club it won't have any effect on performance to be honest.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 641 ✭✭✭Arsenium

Thanks neckedit. It must have hit a stone or a pebble or something but I dont recall. It's not very pretty and they are my pride and joy :) - even when I play bad like I did Saturday!!!

I doubt much can be done to repair it. And as you say if it doesnt effect perfromance, there's not much point spending money unnecessarily.

A local pro could buff it out for you, it wouldn't get rid of it all together but it may take a little of the bad look of it, but I def wouldn't replace it for that kinda damage.

Some good customer service there, my Callaway driver developed a rattle before XMas, I bought it second-hand off Callaway so phoned them up on a Monday, the club was collected from the house and I had a brand new one (i.e. not second hand) delivered by the Thursday of that week. All from Texas in the states and not one cent had I to pay and no red tape.
