Significant failures of Managerial and Editorial Controls and a fine of €200,000 are some of the findings in this report. RTE have also made serious breaches of Section 39 of The Broadcasting Act 2009.

The level of deep regret within RTE is now widespread beyond belief IMO given the nature of the Investigating Officers 34 page Report. There has to be a lot of issues that needs to be addressed at RTE, So; that it's future credibility in RTE News & Current Affairs is not undermined.

Even though Fr Reynolds may not be happy with the Station's handling of the programme; It sends a message for any broadcaster in Ireland that a programme solely made by them must not corrupt the status of innocent individuals being wronged.

The question is though; Can RTE survive their problems by overcoming this recent trouble from the BAI?
