Hi, I've used cartell etc but to no avail.

Can someone in the know verify the milage on the following vehicle? Owner claiming 47000km for an 07 which is extremely low.

    Reg is 07d57658

Tyres look very used, no NCT and unverifiable service history. If true milage, seems very good deal.

    Anyone? Thanks.

    Sounds very funny to me

    Have you tried Motorcheck?

What did your cartell report say?

Sounds like you're trying to discredit the seller to be honest.

Whats the difference between discrediting the seller and doing some research into a big buy?

Cartell can't tell me much as it has never been nct'd hence no log of milage. Just states 2 previous owners etc. Irish car. Discredit the seller? No just trying to verify the milage for such a big purchase.

10k-ish km per year is low but its not extraordinarily low is it? Aside from the worn tires (which would be worn long before half that mileage anyway) have you any other reason to suspect the mileage is not legit? Check the condition of the seats, steering wheel etc to see if there is an unusual amount of wear.

D'ya think? If it's never been serviced then 47k kms over 5 years could have been harder on it then 200k with proper maintenance.

surely it was serviced somewhere in the 5 years?
My E90 is 2007 and just passed the 54000km mark yesterday, but it has full history, not all main dealer though, but verifiable, stamped and receipts kept ;)

talk to the seller and ask him how he serviced it and where?

First post requesting info and publishing a car's reg along with comments about it's less than desirable condition... do the math

You know it should have been NCT'd last year, dont you?

Mrs veetwin has a 08 golf with 35k kms on it so while the mileage is low it's not impossible. What kind of car is it op? 10k a year is low for a mondeo but may be average for a micra.

From motorcheck the car is a 1.4 Golf.

The reg would be viewable in the advert?

And there is not much personal information you can get with a reg plate. None really, just when it last changed owners.

Could be a town car that never had its tyres changed. I have an 07 avensis with less km on the clock than that.

I always google the reg plate of any potential purchase. Seeing a car in a thread like this may cause a negative image for many purchasers.

Well fair enough, but the intelligent person would read the thread and find out that it was just a low mileage older car. I see no big deal here.

Well thank God there are more intelligent people reading this than I thank you.

TBH I don't understand this fascination in low milage cars.
A low milage 07 diesel car is a DMF/DPF problem waiting to happen.
Petrol cars may blow a cylinder head gasket if the mythical little old lady's car is bought by someone who gives it a good burn
