    Hi,
I have a question about this.
Is it possible for a tenants rent allowance to be paid directly to the landlord from the social welfare?

Yes, all the social welfare need is The landlords bank details and the money will go straight to his account.

Yes, as long as the tenants also agree to this. I have heard that some areas can differ on this, and that the community welfare officer (CWO) can excercise discretion on the matter. In general most 'area' community welfare supervisors seem to prefer it to paying the tenant directly, well thats what they have told me.

From what I seen some areas don't allow it at all, and others only if the tenant requests it.

Its really only done if the tenant requests it

And of course the tenant still has to pay their part of it..
