    Hi, I'm looking for chain rings for a 105 crankset 5600 10 speed. 53-39. Any idea where the best place to get these online is, or does anyone have any for sale in new or good as new condition. Also, apart from shimano rings, what other rings would be compatible with my cranks. Cheers and thanks.

    Why not go mad and upgrade to a dura ace 7800 crankset with 53/39 chainrings!! Have one for sale - have a look at my ads!

    You don't have to buy shimano. I replaced an ultegra inner chainring with a BBB one and it is fine. I'm sure there are others as well.

    Sram is also compatible with Shimano

    I would steer away from BBB ones.

    xxcycles is a good place to pick up chainrings. Stronglight and TA are good

    Diarmuid, I've had a BBB one (inner ring) for a few years with no problems. I am curious to know why you wouldn't recommend. Is it BBB in general or just their chainrings? Thanks

    It's the former.... I don't find their stuff very good. For certain less used parts and tools I would consider them. But if it's something I use frequently, I find that the BBB stuff breaks more quickly than kit from guys like Park.. Obviously it's cheaper so it's not surprising....
    That said, the chainrings might be good but I would be more comfortable going with some well proven kit for something as important as chainrings.

    Rose and Bike Discount have various 105 chainrings at around €15-18 for the 39T and €28-30 for 52T/53T.

    I too would steer away from BBB replacement chainring.I changed an inner one on a Tiagra crankset and the chain kept falling between the two rings when changing from the big ring to the small one.I have found that original shimano is the best replacement for a shimano drive train weather it is a chain or rings.
