QRZ Qualifying Reduction Only Stroke Play

Checking if I got .1 back from last Sunday. Why would a Sunday morning competition only be Qualifying Reduction Only Stroke Play.

Played rubbish and was 9.4..... should now be playing off of 10.

Can any body answer this. Is it the clubs decision?

i would guess you are looking for a shot for a matchplay match - which causes me to question your score last sunday. i.e. did you enter the comp purely to get up to 9.5?

If so - you are a bandit, if not - i apologise for any offence caused.

You should apologise, I would never in my life do that crap cause I hate people who do that. I actually played my golf match during the week off of 9 when the draw was done. Actually lost.

You make a comment if its not worth while. I was asking a simple question!

It's a function of the results on the day.
There are 6 possible outcomes for CSS when it is calculated:
Relative to the SSS of the course played, CSS can be -1, 0, +1, +2, +3 and +x(R/O).
It's not decided before the competition, just something that happens on tough days sometimes.

Yes the conditions were very very tough. Very windy and pins in hard places. When the wind blows on Killeen in Killarney its very tough.

So would that say enough people didn't make standard scratch and then club put it as no counting?

It's still a qualifying competition - those people (if any) that posted a relatively good score would get cut but nobody gets a .1 back (hence reductions only).

CSS is all calculated based on the results of the competition. It's automatic via the competition software when the competition is closed but if you want to have a look at the workings, go to the GUI site and download the CONGU handicapping book. It's complicated and depends on percentages of the field playing close to their 'ability', also the relative percentages of each category of golfer...
