The Mulroy Coast Guard Unit in Downings, Co. Donegal is having an open day on Sunday the 6th of May from 11am to 3pm. MAYDAY was started last year, to open the stations up to the public, let people meet the volunteer crews, see the facilities and equipment and get safety information. There will be demonstrations (lifejackets, climbing, pyrotechniques, etc.), talks on the history of the Coast Guard and the local station, DVDs on water safety, interactive areas for throwing a life line, feel what it’s like to get into a liferaft, etc.

Everyone is welcome.
